Packing Jobs at Home

Dispelling the Myths

Contrary to what people believe, decent money can be made by packing jobs at home. Combined with the flexibility of hours to suit, as little or as many hours as required and no travelling expenses, this is now becoming the job of choice for a greater number of individuals. Age is unimportant with this type of work. You could be a stay-at-home mum, a student or someone who has retired and purely wants to supplement their pension.

Training is not a major issue here, nor is there a need to be able to use the latest technology. You don't need a computer, a fax machine or even a telephone.

One of the most rewarding factors of working from home is being able to have a better connection with your family. You can have the opportunity to bring in an income without walking through your front door. You can schedule work around the needs of a demanding family lifestyle. The additional income you generate can also enhance your family standard of living.

How Does It Pay?

The most fruitful home packing jobs involve piece work. This means that you are paid a price for every set piece of packing you complete. This can be ideal for someone who can work quickly with manual dexterity, as they are likely to be in a position to earn more than they would in an hourly paid job.

The job itself is relatively easy to do. All the necessary materials are provided by the company and the majority of them require very little skill to complete the job in hand. Even a complete beginner can usually be up to speed in a relatively short period of time.

Home working can create a primary income if required or simply a secondary income to top up the household finances.

Where Can You Find Vacancies?

You will find that most companies requiring this type of work will advertise in local newspapers, on the internet or even in television adverts. Some companies may advertise on notice boards in local shops or supermarkets.

Even if you have little or no experience, there are jobs available and you can quickly gain experience, once you have successfully completed a few jobs.

Other Considerations

It is wise to research your company before starting to work for them as there can be some less than scrupulous employers out there. You should always be very wary about paying an up front fee for work. After all, an employer would not ask you to pay them before you start working for them.

If you struggle with transport, choose a company who can deliver the supplies to you. The last thing you need is to have to collect them yourself if this is likely to cause you problems and additional expenses. You should also make sure you have space in your home to store your completed packages until they can be collected.

Ensure you are fully aware of the working agreement between yourself and the company. Familiarise yourself with any deadlines and make sure you are able to meet them. You should also agree how you will receive payment, prior to commencing any work.
